Dutch Rabbits:
History: Contrary to popular belief the Dutch Rabbit was developed in England during the 1830's
when rabbits were imported from Ostend every week to the meat markets of England. Among the breeds imported were the
Dutch Rabbits' ancestor, the Petite Brabancon. The Petite Brabancon displayed the beginnings of the beautiful Dutch
Rabbit markings and breeders focused on the development of these marking in their stock, creating the foundation of the beautiful
modern Dutch Rabbits. Today Dutch Rabbits are a very popular breed as pets and at rabbit shows.
